Introducing the MotorCables 22kW AC Power Adaptor

Need a reliable way to draw 22kW of AC 3-phase power from a Type-2 power outlet? Look no further than our innovative Phase 3 22kw mains power Adaptor.

Key Features:

  • High-Power Capacity: Safely and efficiently draw 22kW of AC 3-phase power.
  • Universal Compatibility: Fits standard Type-2 power outlets. (The same sockets as used for plugging in Electric vehicles)
  • Durable Construction: Built with high-quality 5G6 HO7825-F cable for long-lasting performance.
  • Smart Communication: PP pin technology ensures safe and reliable power supply.
  • Convenient Design: Compact 1-meter length for easy portability.
  • Robust IP67 Connectors: Type-2 L1,L2,L3+N+E PP-CP Plug to 32A CEE 5-Pin Red Connector

 Ideal for:

  • Contractors: Power tools and equipment on-site.
  • Off-grid applications: Temporary power solutions.
  • Emergency situations: Backup power source.

Note: This adaptor is designed for AC 3-phase power outlets only. It is not compatible with DC power sources.

22kW AC Power Adaptor lets you experience the power of convenience and reliability.

Connects to both 7KW single phase and 22KW 3-Phase Type-2 Power sockets (EV Charging points). Note that if connected to a single phase 7kw outlet, only the Live 1, Neutral and Earth witll be connected, thus only single phase 32a 230v can be drawn. Connect to a 22KW outlet will provide full 3 phase 3 x 230v or 415V mains power at 32A max. If connecting to a public EV charging netwrk, it may be necessary to end the charge using the network's app before disconnecting the Type-2 plug from the socket.

The Power supplied from EV charging sockets is the same power you would get from a standard mains socket. It comes from the same grid and the same power plant. Some people have this illusion that it is some kind of special electricity that can only be used to charge electric cars, vans, busses and trucks. Well this is of course not true. AC electrical mains power is the same no matter how you take it from the power grid. An EV charger only uses the word EV in it's name because it is put there to charge vehicles. But in reality, it is just an outdoor power socket that accepts a type-2 plug. When you plug in an EV, a communication between the vehicle and the charge point (the outdoor socket) takes place. The main reason for this communication is to tell the power socket (EV charge point), how much current the cable can handle. If the car has a 22KW battery charger on board or even a 12kw charger as most do, If you were to connect the car to the outlet using a cable that could only handle 7kw, the car would draw too much power. Drawing 22kw or 12kw through a 7kw cable could soon cause the cable to get very hot and maybe catch fire. So you see, the purpose of Proximity Pilot (PP) serves as a charge cable detection and current limitation system. Until the power outlet (charge point) has sent a small current down the PP line and received a signal back via the earth, the power outlet will not start supplying power

Our adapter cable contains electronics that provide the PP device on the power outlet (EV charrge point) the ability to communicate with our adapter when no EV is present. The power outlet sends the small current down the PP pin, a small resistor then acts to send back the information to the power outlet that it needs to determine our cable is 5G6mm2 and can transfer 32Amps.

Or if the above is still a bit too technical, how about this

Imagine your electric car charger is like a special outlet for your car. It's designed to give your car the power it needs to recharge. But here's a secret: This power is the same as the electricity you use in your home. It comes from the same power plants and travels through the same wires.

When you plug your car into a charger, they have a little conversation. This conversation helps the charger figure out how much power it can safely send to your car. Think of it like a traffic light: The charger needs to know if the road (or in this case, the cable) can handle the traffic (or the power).

Our adapter cable is like a translator. It helps the charger understand that it's okay to send power, even if there's no car plugged in yet. This way, you can use the charger for other things that need a lot of power.
