This converter can connect directly to our 32A Extension Leads for additional reach or pair seamlessly with our 16A Extension Leads when powering lower-rated equipment. Ensure safe operation by following the guidelines below:
- Temporary Use Only: Not intended for permanent installations.
- Maximum Load: Do not exceed 16 A (≈ 3.8 kW) to ensure safe operation.
- Breaker Protection: The 16 A output circuit needs appropriate overcurrent protection, such as a suitably specified MCB or RCBO. An ordinary RCD provides residual-current protection and is not a substitute for overcurrent protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this cable to connect my campervan or motorhome to a 32A hookup?
It adapts a 32 A blue 230 V supply connector to a 16 A CEE socket for compatible equipment. Suitable protection is required for the 16 A side; this passive lead does not itself reduce the upstream breaker rating.
Is the 32A to 16A coupler cable waterproof?
IP44 means protection against solid objects larger than 1 mm and splashing water under the specified conditions. It is not dust-tight or suitable for immersion.
What is the maximum load this cable can handle?
Do not exceed 16 A or any lower marked assembly limit. At 230 V, 16 A is approximately 3.68 kW for a resistive load; suitable upstream protection is required.
Can it be used for permanent wiring?
No. This adapter is for temporary portable use only. For fixed installations, use hard-wired connectors and appropriate protection.
